Investigation and Collection of Information about the Medicinal Plants in Vietnam with Therapeutic Properties Similar to Those of Bear Bile

The survey conducted in more than 10 provinces and cities throughout the country on the experience of the doctors and practitioners of traditional medicine results in 46 medicinal plants in Vietnam with the therapeutic properties similar to those of bear bile. The survey collected 29 herbal remedies of the doctors and practitioners of traditional medicine who have treated similar cases without using bear bile. Approxiamately 100 specimens and samples of 40 medicinal plants were collected and and they will be used as valuable resources for further research to answer the questions whether or not medicinal plants can replace bear bile in the above mentioned medical treatments.
