Study on Botanical Characteristics and Chemical Composition

of  Elephantopus scaber L., Family Asteraceae

Botanical characteristics and chemical composition  of Elephantopus scaber L., Family Asteraceae have been studied. The contents of total saponin and flavonoid in the plant are 1.95% and 1.31% respectively. There are 7 spots of flavonoid and 11 spots of saponin having been observed  by TLC analysis.
