a-Glucosidase and Tyrosinase Inhibitory effects of Vanillic Acid Isolated from Dioscorea persimilis
Dioscorea persimilis has been used in Vietnamese traditional medicine for a long time for many purposes. In the present study, a phytochemical investigation of the methanol extract of Dioscorea persimilis led to the isolation of vanillic acid. This compound showed potent inhibitory effect against α-glucosidase and tyrosinase activity with the IC50 of 5,76 and 8,93 mg/mL, respectively.
