Molecular authentication of Acanthopanax gracilistylus and A. trifoliatus by RAPD-PCR analysis

The analysis were carried out using a set of 16 mer-random primers. The dissimilarity coefficients between the samples of the two species were very high, mainly ranging from 0.6 to 0.9, indicating that the DNA structure of the two species was significantly different. Several DNA fragments were found to be specific to A. gracilistylus, including OPA15₁₅₀₀, OPA15₈₅₀, OPA12₉₅₀, OPA1_300­, OPA4₁₅₀₀ and OPA₄₀₀ (Acanthopanax gracilistylus) and DNA fragments OPA15₁₀₀₀, OPA12₇₅₀, OPA1₅₀₀ were specific to A. trifoliatus.
