Chemical Constituents from the Rhizomes of Wikstroemia indica C.A.Mey Collected in Vietnam

Phytochemical study on the rhizomes of Wikstroemia resulted in the isolation of five compounds, including two phytosterols β-sitosterol (1) and daucosterol (4), an anthraquinon physcion (2), a coumarin daphnoretin (3), and a flavonoid ombuin (5). Their structures were identified on the basis of IR, MS, NMR spectroscopic data. This is the first report on the isolation of the ombuin from the rhizome of Wikstroemia indica.
