(Received September 19th, 2016)Summary
Chemical Constituents of Cudrina tricuspidata Carr. Bur and their Antitoxidant Activity
Using various chromatography methods, a megastigmane, wilsonol A (1), and three flavonoids, licoflavone C (2), kaempferol-7-O--D-glucopyranoside (3), and aromadendrin (4) have been isolated from the leaves of Cudrania tricuspidata. Their structures were elucidated by 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopic analyses and comparison with those reported in the literature. The antioxidant activity of compounds 1-4 was evaluated by their peroxyl radical scavenging capacity and reducing power. At a concentration of 10 µM, compound 3 showed potential antioxidant activity with ORAC and CUPRAC values of 25.9 ± 0.4 and 10.0 ± 0.1 µM Trolox equivalents.
Keywords: Cudrania tricuspidata, wilsonol A, licoflavone C, aromadendrin, kaempferol-7-O--D-glucopyranoside.
