Summary

Chemical Constituents of n-Butanol Extract of Polygonum barbatum L. Collected in Vietnam

The study on the chemical constituents of the n-butanol extract of Polygonum barbatum L. has resulted in the characterization of four compounds which were identified as ethyl 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate (1), 3-methoxy-4-hydroxyacetophenone (2), 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenol-1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3) and shikimic acid (4). These compounds were isolated for the first time from Polygonum barbatum L. The structures of the isolated compounds were identified on the basis of 1D, 2D-NMR spectral analysis and in comparison with the published NMR data.
