Botanical and Pharmacognostical Characteristics of Bombax malabaricum DC. Grown in Hanoi
Bombax malabaricum DC. Bombacaceae is large, deciduos tree with a height up to 15m. Leaflets are glabrous with a size of 6-7 x 3.5-4cm, stipules are small and caducous. Macro and microscopic characters of stem of Bombax malabaricum DC. was typical of a dicotyledonous plant with distinguishing characters. Powders of the stem bark is reddish-brown with fragments of cork cells, parenchymatous cells, single or groups of thick-walled, oval to irregular. Microscopically stem bark shows transversely elongated, radially arranged, thin-walled, oval to irregular stone cells in singles or in groups.
