Effects of Plant Growth Regulators on Micropropagation Rate

of Saussurea lappa Clarke.  in vitro

The effects of cytokinin and auxin on the multiplication rate from shoot-tip of Saussurea lappa Clarke were investigated. Shoot-tips were inoculated in medium containing MS - mineral supplemented with a cytokinin (BAP, Kin or TDZ) at different concentrations (1,0; 2,0; 3,0 mg/l). All of them stimulated rate of propagation.TDZ used at  2,0 mg/l was most effective in inducing bud. Combination of TDZ, BAP with IBA or NAA have stimulation role on micropropagation rate.
