\n\tSummary
\n\tQuantitative Determination of Phyllanthin in Three Phyllanthus Species Collected in South Vietnam by HPLC-PDA Method
\n\tThe HPLC method for quantitative determination of phyllanthin in 3 Phyllanthus species commonly found in south VN were developed.
\n\tThe contents of phyllanthin in these species were compared. Validation data provided evidence that the quantitation possesed a good repeatability. All calibration curves showed good linear regression relationship (R2 > 0.9976) within test ranges (0.01 to 0.275 mg/ml). The analytical method developed had a good accuracy with the overall recovery, higher than 97% for the analyte concerned. Satisfactory LOD and LOQ were reported for phyllanthin, indicating that the HPLC-PDA method was precise, accurate and sensitive enough for the quantitative evaluation of phyllanthine in P. amarus and its related species.
\n\tThe results revealed that the yield of phyllanthin in P. amarus leaves were in the range of 0.9% but not detectable in all 3 Phyllanthus stems. Results also showed that content of Phyllanthin in leaves of Phyllanthus amarus is higher than that of Phyllanthus sp. Hypophyllanthin and niranthin also were detected in leaves of P. amarus (0.66% and 0.28%, respectively) however, they were not detectable in leaves of P. urinaria.
