\n\t\tScreening the Cytotoxic Activity of Some Medicinal Plants of Pako

\n\t\tand Van Kieu Peoples in Quang Tri Province

\n\t\tTo investigate the local knowledge, 10 medicinal plants which are commonly used to treat diseases by the peoples of Pako and Van Kieu in Quang Tri province have been applied to screen the cytotoxic activity. In in vitro tests on six cancer cell lines, there are 2 out of 10 total extracts of the research plants which have shown cytotoxic activity, in which the best one is Dasymaschalon rostratum var. glaucum (Merr. & Chun) Ban – Annonaceae, followed by Uvaria grandiflora Roxb. ex Hornem – Annonaceae. This result is unfolding prospects in research finding anticancer agents from natural products.
