\n\tCytotoxic Activities of Lignans Isolated from Nutmeg against Some Cancer Cell Lines
\n\tThe aim of this study is to evaluate cytotoxicity of four lignans (1-4) isolated from nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) against eight cancer cell lines. The result indicated that the compound meso-dihydroguairetic acid (1) showed significant cytotoxicity against eight cancer cell lines with the IC50values range from 10.0 μM to 33.4 μM, but exerted no effect on MDCK cell line. This finding suggests that 1 may be an interesting compound for further studies on finding anticancer agents from natural products.
