Study on Choleretic Effect and Hepatoprotective Activity of Some Fractions from

Ethanol Extract of Clausena sanki J.F. Leaves

Clausena sanki J.F. leaves have been used as the spice in some baked dishes. In previous study, we showed that the ethanol extract possessed choleretic effect in mice. This time, we investigated the choleretic effect and hepatoprotective activity of fractions from ethanol extract ofClausena sanki J.F. leaves. The results showed that the ethylacetate fraction has highest activity (increased bile level by 22,59%, P < 0,05; inhibited the increasing of serum ALT, AST activity and bilirubin level by 20,8 %, 11,6 % (P > 0,05) and 24,5 %, (P < 0,05), respectively) while others have low or not activities.
