Androgen Activity of Eurycoma longifolia J. in Vietnam
To evaluate androgenic activity of subspecies M1 and M2 of Eurycoma longifolia J. in Vietnam, Hershberger assay was used in mouse. The results showed that the sample M2 with the dose of 10 g/kg body weight exhibited the most significantly androgenic activities. With the relative dose in rats (6 g/kg body weight), the M2 Eurycoma longifolia J. increased testosterone level in plasma. It also exhibited the effect more clearly than that in ethanol 40% and ethanol 80%.
