Investigation of Chemical Constituents of Cassia tora (L.) Roxb. Seeds

In this paper, 5 compounds were isolated from the defatted methanol extract of Cassia toraseeds using column chromatography on silica gel 60 (0.015 - 0.040 mm) and  a mixture of petroleum ether - dichloromethan (1:1) as an eluant solvent. Two of these compounds were spectroscopically identified to be chrysophanol and physcion. The determination of remaining compounds is in progress.
