Summary
Two Iridoid Monoterpene Glycosides Isolated from Lonicera japonica
A phytochemical investigation of the methanol extract of the leaves and twigs of Lonicera japonica led to the isolation of two iridoid monoterpene glycosides. By means of the spectroscopic methods including ESI-MS and 1D-NMR, the isolated compounds were determined to be loganin (1) and sweroside (2).
Keywords: Lonicera japonica; Caprifoliaceae; loganin; sweroside.
