Lupane-type Triterpenoids Isolated from the Plant Tetracera scandens
From the MeOH fraction of aerial parts of the medicinal plant Tetracera scandens, four compounds 1-4 were isolated by repeated column chromatography. Their structures were identified as lupeol (1), betulinic acid (2), acid betulinic 28-methyl ester (3), and b-sitosterol (4) on the basis of spectroscopic analyses. This is the first report of the existence of lupeol and acid betulinic 28-methyl ester from the plant T. scandens.
