\n\tInvestigation of some Pharmacological Effects of Triterpenoid Fraction from

\n\tGanoderma lucidum Cultivated in Thua Thien Hue

\n\tTotal triterpenoid extract from Ganoderma lucidum grown in Phu Luong district, Thua Thien Hue province has been evaluated for its acute toxicity, antioxidant, and hepatoptotective effects using in vivo assay. The content of this extract is 5.30 ± 0.18% as compared to the absolutely dried herbs. In experimental model, at the dose of 55g extract/ kg body weight of mouse, this extract did not show the acute toxicity. At the dose of 484 mg extract/kg body weight of mouse, the total triterpenoid extract not only showed the antioxidant activity, inhibited 19.94% of increase level of MDA in comparison with those of a control group (p < 0.05); but also helped protect the liver cells, inhibited 39.83% of increase activity of ALT enzyme in mouse serum (p < 0.05).
