\n\tInvestigation of Chemical Composition and Biological Activity of Essential oil from Psidium guajava Leaves

\n\tWe studied the essential oil obtained Guava (Psidium guajava L.)  leaves by water steam distillation and extraction with petroleum ether . Its chemical composition has been analyzed by  GC/MS and was found to contain 42 components. The major ones are b-Caryophyllene and a-Caryophyllene. The essential oil of Guava showed antibacterial and antifungal activities.
